Membership

Founded in 1890 by a group of distinguished Richmonders, the Commonwealth Club’s membership today is more broadly based and diverse than ever. Our membership, over 1,500 strong, enjoys the Club’s traditions, and the services and events offered in our rambling, comfortable Clubhouse in downtown Richmond. The 80,000 square feet building on West Franklin Street houses two bars, casual and fine dining venues, more than a dozen private rooms, an athletic facility, a barber shop, a wine shop and more.

Membership is by invitation only. A prospective member must have a sponsoring member initiate the process.
